Anna & Jared - A Proposal Session

It was a crisp 35 degree evening with a wind chill of 26 degrees. I'm bouncing around from one dark and shadowy corner to another as I try to envision the best spot to shoot from. I sip my hot coffee and as I exhale I can see my breath leaving my lips in short puffs of smoke like air. City hall shines like a beacon in the night and the city is beautifully illuminated. It is quiet except for a few over zealous visitors running up the Art Museum steps, hands thrusting to the air in Rocky like fashion, I can hear the "Yo Adrianne"s," along with giggles from those that are actually entertained. A family approaches the tree and as the father lines up the children they attempt a family portrait. I offer to take the pic and soon they are on their way to a warmer setting. A woman approaches the top step and I watch her with her camera shooting and it clicks in my head! Here's my alibi!!! Oh yeah!

I ask her if she is going to be around for a few minutes would she mind pretending that I am taking pics of her? You see, I have a client who is proposing tonight and It was essential that I did not use a flash because the proposal is a surprise in the dead of night on top of these very steps. She agrees to be my accomplice. So like ninjas we wait and from a distance I see headlights approach and then the car parks. As two figures clad in dark coats stroll towards the tree I knew that the time was now.

Hmmm, doesn't the tree look beautiful Anna? Oh wait, this isn't just a beautiful stroll after dinner and we aren't just here to see the sights.... Jared drops to one knee and you guessed it, proposes. I was full of adrenaline, snapping away at my accomplice who was standing near the tree(but really at the unsuspecting Anna.)

I just love this pure and beautiful reaction!

Will she say yes?

Of course she does!

As Anna admires her ring, I think she notices that the camera is now on her and she smiles this smile that just genuinely grabs my heart and I feel so happy for the both of them.

Congratulations Anna & Jared! I'm am so thrilled to have been a witness to this amazing moment in your lives and I wish you both many more warm hugs and smiles on seemingly cold winter nights!

10-20 Tina & Bill The E-Session

Sometimes it's nice to get out of the city! Now don't get me wrong, I love the city, urban locations, textures and all that comes with being in and around any major city. There is however a wonderful vibe that you feel when you venture into the country. It's a different pace. A lovely and calming feeling. The sun on a crisp fall day warming your face, the farms, horses and fields creating a picturesque backdrop perfect for a session! Tina and Bill love the country. It's easy to see why. It's even more apparent that Tina and Bill love each other... Their fun interactions, you know the kind that you only have with people who you feel a real closeness with, are definitely fun to watch. I could have traveled throughout all of southern Delaware with these two and shot all day, that's how easy it is to be around them. I don't know what I love more, Tina's fun-loving personality or Bill's smiling eyes. I can say that when around them, you feel like you are just hangin out with friends, a welcome feeling and I can't wait to hang out again on their wedding day! Oh and let's not forget to give a shout out to Melanie, Tina's sister! I photographed her fabulous wedding and that's where I met Tina. So Holla & thanks Mel!

10-18 The Wedding of Tracy & Andy

Today was one of those days where I felt like things just came together so beautifully. When Val and I arrived the house was bustling with getting ready festivities. The kids hangin out, boys being boys, & Tracy at ease getting her hair done. We scoped out the area and found such beautiful light everywhere we went. Details, Details, Details! I especially love this first shot. Tracy found her 1st Communion Dress and we incorporated it in one of the detail shots. I love the similarities and contrasts that these two dresses represent. Working with Tracy and Andy has been such a joy. I knew it would be from the experience I had shooting their E-Session. Just two really amazing people who have found each other and have formed a beautiful family and are surrounded by such a loving and supportive family!

It's a wonderful thing to have 3 sisters each helping you all at once to get ready! Wouldn't that be great every weekend! I just love the look on Tracy's face as she reads a card from Andy.

The ceremony was filled with wonderful smiles, laughter and even some good tears. I'm constantly surveying the situation, anticipating actions and reactions.

Spinning around and looking to my right, I captured this moment shooting through the arms of the Videographer. Family...Their reactions...priceless...

Thanks to you both so much for your trust in me, for letting me scout the area along our travels and choose locations that may have been unconventional at first to shoot but produced gorgeous results and for truly enjoying the many moments that made up your day!

10-17 Sarah & Rebecca - A Sister's Session

Can I say that I love hangin out with Sarah. I've had the pleasure of shooting her E-Session, Wedding, Trash the Dress and now a special session with her sister to give to mom as a gift. The sessions are always fun, easy and we always end up with more great pics to choose from than we need. Today was no exception! Add Rebecca to the mix, she is equally as fun loving and amicable as Sarah. It's funny how when siblings are together time can stand still. We can revert back to our roles as children. I reflect back to when I was younger. The oldest of 3 children. My two younger brothers often subject to the "life lessons" that I was teaching them... It's a wonder they even speak to me after all of the stuff I used to get us into. I can still remember John, who was the youngest, writing on pieces of paper all the things he was gonna tell mom and dad once they got home. Ha, ha... only he couldn't write yet so he had lines of scribble on paper.... Funny now, funnier then.

I digress as usual=) Back to Sarah and Rebecca! We spent the afternoon roaming the park that sits in their backyard. Walking the paths and climbing the trees that they did so frequently when they were young. What a beautiful glimpse to capture for their mom. Her girls are older now but the sights are the same and in these images I am sure she can see their childhood reflections. Here's just a few =)

10-15 Jessica A Maternity Session

Ahhh Jessica! You are fun and Sassy and I love it! Thanks for a great session and just letting go. By the time you read this your little man will have entered this world and you will know the feelings of motherhood. I know you are gonna be a great mom and I wish you the very best of luck and love! And Courtney, don't spoil the baby too much. I know it will be hard since he's your first grandchild and all but resist girl! Just kidding, that's what grandparents are for, atleast that's what my dad told me as he fed mass quantities of sugar laden treats to Kris before giving her back to me. So have fun, good luck but most of all take a breath and a few moments when you can to enjoy =)

10-14 Lauren & Wayne The E-Session

Not everyone can rock the red shoes but Lauren you wore them well!!! I really had fun interacting with Lauren and her two men today. Who can resist seeing big strong arms wrapped around the people that they love. I can imagine the feeling of safety and comfort that comes from a hug like that one. Especially when you are together as a family. The dynamics of mother and son have always intrigued me. I have a daughter and our bond is sometimes an unspoken closeness that I just can't explain. If I tried I would not do it justice. So watching Lauren interact with her son led me to believe that it must be a maternal thing. Knowing when to hug closer or give space. Slight gestures or twinkles in your eye that aren't meant for the benefit of others. A Caring nod or word of encouragement. Those little things that you do for and with your kids. It touches my heart strings! We had fun, jumped and rolled in the grass and strolled about the city and as I pulled away after the shoot I thought to myself.... This was more than an Engagement Session. This was a Together Session. The three of them, Together, documenting their family love now and once again on a very special upcoming date in

10-11-08 The Wedding of Kristen nd Brian

A small gesture to some could be a huge deal to others... You would have thought that Lori and I had just received the Holy Grail when Kristen handed us 2 matching red bags filled with snacks and drinks to hold us over until dinner. It was as if light came beaming from the insides as we opened up the care packages to find a variety of calorie conscious yum yums. Is it still calorie conscious if you eat all of them at once? Hmmm, probably not, huh. Regardless, in that simple but oh so thoughtful gesture, Kristen set the tone for that warm & fuzzy feeling that a Wedding Day should have. A beautiful ceremony followed by ginormous hugs from her students and tons of dancing and fun. We had an amazing time with both you and Brian today and I want to say Thank You! Thank you both for your thoughtfulness, sincerity and genuine love!!! Oh and Brian, the shades look good! =)

The most cooperative puppies evah!!!

So the other night I had a half a second to spare and thought hmmmm, maybe this would be a good time to take a few pics for this year's Holiday Card. The puppies were fantastic last year and posed so nicely in their winter best. This year, not so much. Not only were they running around and uncooperative, Lilli decided to be the puppy police and reprimanded baby for I guess not smiling cute enough which in turn resulted in a slight disagreement... They don't really know how to bite so when they "fight" they just open their mouths and make very interesting and comical darting movements towards each other. This makes them look even funnier because their mouths never close, so imagine mouths wide open and heads just bobbing and weaving! They are technically teenagers now so it makes complete sense that they are opting out of my yearly photo project. Pretty much like Kristin did once it was no longer "cool" to have her image on a card sent out to family and friends. However, I am not above bribery!

So I sat them down and we did a little meditation and yoga. Shortly after the last downward dog and a peanut butter bone shaped biscuit they said I could have one pic each and that was all I needed =).

10-9-08 Lauren & Mike The E-session

One of my favorite aspects of photographing a wedding is the engagement session. In my opinion the last thing that I want the session to be is a portrait session. The connection that two people have is what holds importance to me. Obviously you have chosen to set a date that you will in front of your family and friends pledge your love and devotion to each other. Something had to have clicked sometime, somewhere to drive you to this defining moment in your lives... The session is about this emotion that has brought you together. Ultimately my goal is to create fun, passionate, loving, tender and artistic images from the glimpses I get into your lives and personalities. My past clients will tell you how important this session was, my current clients have discovered this to be true and for my future clients I will leave you with one of the most inspiring things that I have been told recently...

Thank you so much Lauren and Mike for having some fun, running around NYC, and just being yourselves. What you both share is truly special and I'm so happy to be part of preserving these memories for you. Your words inspire me! You said to me,

"Cindy, it's not just a chance to have our pictures taken, it's an opportunity that when we have kids to show them where we once lived and fell in love and the things that we loved..."

Yes! Yes! Yes! You can have a grip and grin shot taken by anyone, but wouldn't you rather have to show your children one day that you aren't just parents you are people. People who rode to work on subways or taxi's, crossed over bridges , rolled in the grass, held hands while running through the street, kissed under the stars and yes, people who fell in love... I had such a blast with you both!

10-8-08 Nhat and Arthur E-Session

So can I just say that it is always a breath of fresh air when you step outside of your boundaries and do something you may have never done before? Sometimes it's a good thing, other times it's a learning experience but for the most part you can live in the moment and who knows??? Maybe, just maybe that moment becomes a memorable one for you... Thank you so much Nhat and Arthur for braving the cold and for your 1 million percent cooperation. I feel honored that I was there the day that for the first time Nhat climbed a tree, walked barefoot getting her feet dirty, rolled around in the leaves and laid on the ground! So many firsts!!! I love the feel of these images and I know that we are going to make beautiful images on your wedding day! Can you believe how quickly time is going by!

The Wedding of Kristen and Larry 10-4-08

The room was so quiet that you could hear the sound of his voice crack a little as Kristen's Dad gave his welcome speech. He said that you would think that once your daughter left home to be with the man that she loves you would worry but he knew that he could and would sleep well at night knowing that she was safe with Larry... Mom nods and blows a kiss Kristen's way and in front of all of their family and friends welcome them in such a warm and inviting way.

Not a cloud in sight to shield us from the bright sun today but we made it work!

This year I have seen some amazing choreographed dances. There have been Bride-Groom dances, father daughter dances but never an entire bridal party! Kristen did an amazing job with the choreography and kudos go out to the entire bridal party who performed with such enthusiasm! They had the crowd pumped and really set the stage for one fantastic party.

The Wedding of Juliana & Geof 10-3-08

From the moment that I could begin to make out his features and expressions, I could feel the way that he must have felt. There were no more than a few hundred feet separating Geof from Juliana. Approaching in a calm yet direct manner his smile broadening as he grew nearer yet I knew in addition to the elation there was an underlining nervousness and excitement glimmering in his eyes. I felt it, I saw it and everyone within a mile of these two today feels it too! As Geof comes within a mere two feet of Juliana and he can fully take in how beautiful she is, his eyes glistening, he immediately clasps his hand to his mouth in awe and gives the type of reaction that most girls only dream of... Watching this transpire just reaffirms the way that I have viewed their love. Juliana, always upbeat with a friendly word and positive beyond belief. Geof, so genuine, sweet and lovable. You two make me happy to be a part of the wonderful day you have created. Your love and your beauty as people is apparent inside and out!

Much, much love to you both. I'm so very thankful that our paths crossed and you won that fateful E-Session!!!

The clouds parted and the raining stopped but for only a moment today. Sometimes that is all you need in life is that one moment that you can make the most of. That one moment that you steal away and make your own whether it is to get those much wanted pictures outside or as the best man toast went...even to pursue the girl who you knew would one day be yours. I admire the way that Chuck and Candice just fit... Their personalities, taste, humor, and their love for each other... It just fits, fits like the final pieces of a puzzle coming together. I see it in their smiles and in their laughter (which they do often together!) Most importantly I see it in the way they interact when they think that no one is looking. Thank you both for being such a cool couple. You are fun and funky and cool and just so in love and have planned and executed an amazing party filled with such great details!

9-20-08 The Wedding of Trish and Rob

They didn't have one dance, or two or even three... Dancing to songs chosen for the very special people in their lives, sharing smiles, laughter and tears in their arms, Trish and Rob in their ever gracious ways made sure everyone knew how much they loved and appreciated family. It's funny how things happen. It seems just like yesterday when I photographed Trish's brother's wedding. I remember distinctly how she couldn't wait to get out of her dress and into something more comfortable. She told me then that she would have to be comfortable when she got married but at the time she wasn't seeing anyone. Then one day Rob's dog took a fancy to her cat and it was decided by these animal match makers that the two kindred spirits should meet!

Staying true to herself and to comfort, Trish rocked the baseball socks and sneaks!

I just love her Mom and Dad's expressions. Seeing her for the first time wearing her wedding dress brought such smiles. She is the youngest of their children and the very last to get married so today would be sure to have many emotions swimming through it.

Umm yea... Can you say beautiful!

It must be so wonderful to look into the loving and smiling eyes of mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and grandmothers just to see your own reflection in their happiness.

9-19-08 The Wedding of Jessica & David

****Oh Yeah, It's officially the next day (even though only an hour has passed.) So I'm on a roll 2 days = 2 blogs =)

I remember when she pulled up in the car outside of the country club, dress in tow, a slightly nervous look in her eyes because time was slipping by. I assured her we would be fine, after all, it was her day and weddings never start without the bride. I knew that the nervousness was laced with excitement since in just a few short minutes she would be seeing David so that they could share in their first glace and have a private moment before the ceremony. It's funny how you can sometimes feel when the tides shift.

As he traversed the patio to where she waited I knew that those nerves would settle and I was right as I saw the sweet and soft smiles erupt across both of their faces. It is in the arms of the ones that love you that you most often feel the safest! Jessica, you are truly a genuine, caring and sweet soul and David, your easy demeanor, quick wit and welcome grin won me over too! So on this mild September evening after all is said and done I take away with me the gratitude of having spent a few hours with an amazing couple and family who have traveled a distance to share in the beginning of your lives together. Thank you for making me feel so welcome!

I love how David's Dad has captured so many amazing moments in the lives of his family members. Every room in the house and most walls have these memories framed, beautiful candids, classic portraits and documentation of the generations... I am in awe.... So we captured a portrait amongst the portraits, another slice in time preserved =)

8-22-08 The Wedding of Ashley & Phil

So I received an email today from one of my lovely clients informing me that my blog hiatus has been missed and it was time to post some new stuff!!! Ha, ha. It's true, I've been a very bad blogger and it's not for lack of things to blog so I promise to be better =) Thanks Stephanie, xoxo I needed the reminder that I'm not the only one who reads this stuff. So I'm gonna try and blog something everyday even if it's just a few images. Here goes... One in row!

Last February I held a contest and gave away several free wedding packages as my way to give back. I ran the contest on the air via Wired 96.5 - Thank you Chio, G-N, Justice & Casey for plugging me, I heart you all! The rules were simple, you either had to write me an email or letter and let me know why you should get a Photography Package. Your story had to be true first and foremost nad second you either could not have been able to afford a photographer or have had some kind of hardship that you overcame. Basically you couldn't enter if you just wanted to win a contest. Stories poured into my in box throughout the months of December, January and February. Every time I read one I counted my blessings. I had a panel of judges who narrowed down the hundreds of entries to the top 10 and then I chose from those 10, 3 winners...

It was my pleasure to be able to give a package to Ashley and Phil. Through health hardships and struggles Ashley persevered and has endured more in her life than someone in her 20's should have had to... Phil has been by her side offering his continuing support. Your story and your strength touched me and I wish the best for you both and am happy to have been in a position to help. Thank you for sharing such a personal part of your lives!

The Wedding of Heather and Robin 8-23-08

Often when we think of marriage we forget that you aren't just marrying the person that you love you are uniting families and merging them into a new and more complete circle. That is exactly the way I felt today witnessing the union of Heather and Rob. The beautiful candle lit church set the stage for a very tender and loving ceremony which incorporated Jason, Heather's son, into the moment. One of my favorite shots of the day occurred just moments after Heather and Rob and Jason lit the unity candle and then placing a medallion around Jason's neck. Jason and Rob locked eyes for a moment while Heather's hand touched Jason's arm. It was in this decisive moment that I felt they had completed their circle. This circle includes a wonderful and supportive family and friends, who from what I have witnessed are such a closely banded group that you might as well call them family as well.

The warm August sun shined brightly as billowous clouds dotted the horizon. As an added bonus we didn't even get locked up when we climbed through the stone wall to get to the fields that would be our backdrop for their portraits. Oh how I love when I'm allowed to choose the locations for pics and I love even more when enough time is set aside to capture the images but more than that I love, love, love when despite the craziness of the requests not a single bit of apprehension complicated the situation. Cooperation was through the roof =) We were able to make use of the harsh summer sun and capture some truly beautiful images. I know that Heather has been anxious to see these teasers. I hope that it was worth the wait! These are just a few of my favorites. Thank you so much Heather, Rob and Jason for letting me share in your special day! Much love to you all!!!

The Wedding of Chrissey & Mike 9-13-08

As she waited for him to enter the room so that they could see each other for the very first time on this their wedding day, she hears his familiar laughter carry through the doorway as he says hi and jokes with the bridesmaids exiting the room. I smile, having spent some time with Mike and Chrissey during their E-session I noticed then how Mike can make Chrissey laugh and how smiles are so easily coaxed. She turns towards him and this broad and gentle smile spreads across his face as he is beaming. I'm shooting and listening and shooting and listening and I hear, "you are so beautiful...", spoken in such a way that I get goosebumps. What a wonderful start to a day that was filled with many moments of love, adoration and kindness. You both Rock! For lack of better words, you just do.

The police came and chased the skaters away so for a few brief moments we had Love Park all to ourselves.

As nightfall rapidly descends upon us they turn towards city hall walking off hand in hand as the amber light of archways guides us back to the reception. The light tonight is unbelievable, the breeze welcoming and the couple, well, they are perfectly matched and I couldn't have asked or conjured a more lovely day. These are the times that if could be would be bottled and then re-opened and sipped from each and every weekend.

The Wedding of Eric & Archana 8-31-08

Springfield bound today with Lori to enjoy and capture the festivities of The Hindu Marriage Ceremony uniting Eric and Archana. I can not say enough about how beautiful and detailed this day was. I can not post enough images to do justice to the uniting of these two families through the many aspects of the traditions and components of the day. However, I can say that I am in awe of the history and meanings behind the various components of the ceremony and it makes me feel so wonderful to be able to celebrate and absorb these customs. I think that it is a wonderful thing when customs are carried out throughout generations and can preserve heritage and beliefs through them. There were moments of fun, respect, love and appreciation and I thank you Eric and Archana for allowing us to be present throughout all of it! The food was fantastic, the performances amazing and the toasts repectively tear filled and gut busting! We all found out about Eric's alter ego and I don't think there was a single person who did not laugh hysterically. Much love to you both!

Octoberfest

My father was born in Austria, his parents in the Ukraine so in celebration of my Eastern European Heritage I am celebrating Octoberfest with some friends in Delaware =) Ok so, like I really am 1/2 Ukranian but this was more so a much needed escape from a very hectic schedule.

There's something about a fair or festival that I really love. I don't know if it's the smell of cotton candy and funnel cake that waxes nostalgic or playing silly games at the cost of 10 times what the value of the prize you can potentially win. Either way a great evening ensued with a few ginormous mugs of yummy German Brew, good times, good times...

A Baby Session - Andrew & Isabella

A few weeks ago I shot a maternity session with mom, dad and big sis Isabella. Well now we are back to welcome baby Andrew to the world!!! I think he knew it was his day to be the model, sleeping on cue and waking when we wanted him too =) I really loved this session and the whole family got in on the fun. My favorite moment however wasn't photo related. You see Isabella is a very bright 3 year old. Mom, Dad and I tried to Bribe some smiles from her with some Cinnamon rolls and she was all for it until they told her she couldn't have them until Cindy left. Isabella promptly replied "Bye Cindy" Ha, Ha , Ha we all laughed and of course she then smiled...

8-28-08 Kelly & Bob - E-session

A session at the beach with the lovely Kelly and Bob! I love your spirit, fun and ready to go twirling on hills, rolling in the sand and most of all just completely comfortable in each others arms. 8-29-08 Lauren & Nick - E-Session

Sometimes it's an innocent giggle or a familiar way that they walk towards each other. Other times it's just a sense that I get. this time it was a little of both. Lauren and Nick are just so sweet together. Their playfulness was infectious. At times Nick and I were teasing Lauren and vice versa. I had a wonderful time today thanks to you both!

9-9-08 Marissa & Tehron - E-Session

Strolling in the city today with Marissa and Tehron. They walk hand in hand with confident and purposeful strides. I feel so at ease knowing the trust that they have in me and this creates such a calming feeling. I think it's wonderful how well they compliment and balance each other! As the sun dips beneath the edge of the nearby building I shout that's it! We r Done woohoo great shot, the smile on Marissa's face was worth a bajillion sunsets!

9-11-08 Dylan & Addison - Portrait Session

Cuteness factor times 2!!! A great afternoon for some adorable portraits of Dylan and Baby sister Addison. After some studio shots we headed to the park and chased Dylan around. I could post about a hundred of this cute little man running from slide to sand, here to there. A nice diversion =)

9-11-08 Lauren & John - Post Bridal Session

Her Blue eyes sparkle as the light hits just right, he smiles and the sight is just so cute! We are all alone on this deserted beach as fall quickly approaches. No worries, baby sea gulls scamper quickly across the sand towards the water leaving the tiniest of imprints. These babies don't have a worry as they are beginning their new lives. I think that Lauren and John are much like the baby seagulls. They too are starting their new lives together, newly married. From what I have witnessed of them together they don't have a worry either. They are loving and compassionate and fun and I am thrilled to have been a part of their day and now the post shoot!

9-14-08 Audrey & Scott - E-Session

Chatting and Driving all around the city feeling completely comfortable. I Love your love of food and great beers! Ah yes, a couple after my own heart. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy shooting and hanging with you both, I loved the conversation! Thank you so much for being so fun. I can't wait to shoot the wedding!

9-21-08 Corey, Eric & Cameron - Family Session

Cameron has the uncanny ability of knowing exactly when I want him to smile. It was fabulous, on cue almost =) He's adorable and I'm sure has his Mommy and Daddy right where he wants them. I just love the interaction between all three of them, so many wonderful moments! I feel so very lucky to have been there for one of his "firsts" Today was the first time Cameron has swung in a swing. When I heard his cute little giggle erupt into a full blow laugh as the wind rushed by his face while he swung back and forth... I couldn't help but laugh myself! We all laughed. It is in these very moments that stick out in my mind. The precise moment of joy as one experiences a first, new, wonderful feeling! I wish I could bottle that. I wish the three of you many moments just like that as you grow as a family and I am sure that the sound of laughter and giggles echos the walls of your house frequently!

Stephanie,Tom & Isabella 8-16 The Maternity Session

I met Stephanie, Tom and Isabella about 3 years ago when my studio was in center city they lived only a few blocks away from the studio and walked by one day booking me for a baby session. Isabella was a not only a beautiful baby but as far as babies go, so highly cooperative. I loved the images we were able to capture that day and even had a few displayed for s few years. Fast forward 3 years, Tom and Stephanie are expecting their 2nd child. My studio is now in NJ, just minutes from Philly and they now live in NJ just a few towns over and Isabella is even more beautiful than I remember! Her thick wavy locks bounced side to side as they entered the studio. Her adorable cherub face full of smiles. We shot some images of her looking so very cute in her tutu and mom and dad. A great session and soon enough we will be shooting another baby session. I'm always amazed when the realization of time hits. It doesn't stand still and so easily I realize my mortality when I see 3 years progress through the growth of a child..... So much has happened in that span but one thing remains the same. I am still shooting amazing couples, beautiful babies and adorable children and loving it!

Stephanie and Todd - The E-session 8-15-08

The pleasant sound of her laughter wafted through the late afternoon air. It came so effortlessly and it was so genuine that I found myself chuckling as well. I caught glimpses of Todd's shy smile erupting into a broad grin as Stephanie flirted with him while we shot. The look in his eyes told the endearing story of how well they got along and their ever so accommodating demeanor showed me that they were not just thoughtful towards each other but most people as well. I like when couples can have a little or a lot of fun during the session. When you can let loose a little and enjoy the moment you have the opportunity to catch those glimpses yourselves. It only takes a moment to make a memory and I'm glad that we were able to have some fun today and capture these lasting memories. When your wedding day comes, Stephanie and Tony, I know we'll be chasing and catching many, many more!

Rose and Mike - The E-session 8-13-08

A huge thank you goes out to the Chrissey and Mike for connecting me with Rose and Mike! Most of my business has been built on referrals and word of mouth and it has more than sustained the growth I have seen in the past 4 years in my business. However more than just growth in business I feel that I have had the pleasure of forming relationships with so many amazing people that I am honored to be working with especially experiencing with them some of the most momentous of things. From Engagements, to marriages, pregnancies, births, family milestones and much more! I absolutely love my clients and that they refer me to people like themselves! So, thank you Chrissey and Mike, I know your wedding will be fabulous!

I knew from the moment that Rose and Mike met me for their session that we were gonna get along just great! They already love my work and felt so completely comfortable that It was more like just hangin out with old friends. I could tell early on that Mike had an artistic eye. He knew right away where my head was as I took them to various locations. Together Rose and Mike are just so easy to get along with and if I had to sum it up in one word I would say they are"real". They are sincere, honest and real. I loved this about them. The love they share between them is unmistakable and the way they made me excited to shoot today was such a welcome thing. To say the least, I am looking so forward to shooting their wedding next year!

I love the shot above for a few reasons. First , I am obsessed with back lighting and sun flare and second, how can you resist the moment right before a kiss. The pic below was a welcome accident. It was shot just a split second after the above pic and is out of focus, yet I love it more so for that fact. You can tell that it is Rose and Mike and your mind lets you know that these slightly blurred figures are having a moment that is both romantic and beautiful. I think I have a new obsession... Slightly blurred in it's focus yet perfectly sharp in its message. =)

Nicole and Drew - The E-session 8-12-08

I'm on a shooting spree!!! There are more sessions and weddings to follow but today I'm with Nicole and Drew, Woohoo! Nicole and Drew came to the studio and we ran around town for their e-session. I just love, love, love how cute they are together. They were so much fun to drive around with, stopping to shoot here and there that I completely forgot that I was working. It's such a great feeling to be so comfortable. I would have to hope the comfort I felt is the same feeling that I create when I'm shooting. One that invites a relaxed session and fun and sets the tone for capturing the silly, passionate and emotional moments. I think we were able to do that today and I know the wedding day will bring many more opportunities to do the same!

You could hear the faint sound of laughter as Val and I crossed the street to The Victorian where Jen and her bridesmaids were putting the finishing touches to their hair and make-up. It was hard for me to imagine that just a half an hour earlier as we traversed the AC expressway all we could hear was the pounding of hail and the swishing of my windshield wipers. Yet now, the azure sky peeks so shyly through dark and threatening clouds casting the most lovely light onto us and this day. It was truly my pleasure to spend today with you Jen and Chase! From the moment I met you both it has been nothing short of an ideal experience for me as a photographer. You have allowed me to shoot without limits each and every time we have had sessions and for that I am so grateful. I am so happy that the weather cleared for you! You seem to balance each other in such an extraordinary way and it's a beautiful thing. I wish you both many years of the same love and laughter that you allowed me to witness today! Also a special thank you goes out to Wedding Planner Erin Proud and her assistant for your flawless coordination and attention to detail. Your capable hands demonstrated on more than one occasion to me how stress free and beautiful an event such as a wedding could really be!

8-8-08 The Wedding of Lauren & John

There are usually a few very significant moments that stand out to me when I'm shooting. Sometimes it's as simple as something crazy and random yet other times they are very specific moments that I think capture the day, for me at least. For Lauren and John it was the moment I saw Lauren arriving for the ceremony. She was beaming... Ready to get Married! As I watched her through the lens smiling and leading her bridesmaids to the front door of the church I thought how ironic is it that just moments ago I saw one of the guys peeking through the curtains, checking to see if it was time... As Lauren sped past me preparing to enter the church this thought flashed through my mind, envisioning that the last moment being "single" that Lauren and John will have spent was in anticipation for seeing each other =) Ahhhh Love, sweet love.

Lauren wins this year for having the favor closest to my heart. A wine bottle stopper with the Love logo. The table scapes were cool wine bottles and candles creating a very intimate and beautiful atmosphere. Lori shot with me and we are both such wino's so we totally appreciated the decor. The photo session was a whirlwind but everyone made things easy by being so cooperative. We were able to go out later that night for a few night shots. One of my favorites below of the guys with their cigars. They put me in mind of the Rat pack - just too cool. A pleasure to deal with and thank you guys for offering up some stogies and drinks to us, trust me if we were'nt working we would have been havin fun right there with you!

Next week I will be meeting Lauren and John at the shore for a sexy trash the dress... Stay tuned , I know the session will be H-O-T!

8-2-08 The Wedding of Autumn and Michael

It's 2:30 am here, soft music playing in the background - quiet time =) and as I sit uploading images to this blog it strikes me that I love how an image can take you back to a place and time. I often say to my clients how important it is to print out your personal images. You know, hold that picture in your hand and you can feel what it felt like to be there just by looking and remembering.

The puppies are nestled into their special little nooks that they sqeeze themselves into while I edit, they can't see me smiling to myself. If I have any crazies peeking into my windows they will definitely run the other way because I'm sure they are asking why is this insane woman up and furthermore why is she smiling that kooky looking smile/grin to herself???

Autumn and Michael - Every detail about their wedding makes me smile. I love the chartreuse and mango colored flowers for starters. My faves!!! The ring - well beautiful, classic and vintage all rolled up in one brilliant sparkling blingy bling. The dress - so very beautiful and striking in it's simplicity yet detailed as well. The bride - she was simply stunning. Every choice was perfect from the elegant twist in Autumns hair to the way that her dress just suited her. The only way I can describe it is that she put me in mind of a classic hollywood star, very hepburnesque. As an added bonus Autumn said that we could shoot anywhere I chose. Woohooooooooooo =) I scouted the route from the church to the reception and found the coolest textured walls and much much more. Now let's not forget Michael. He's a man of many talents and I have to say I admired his handiwork in their home. Although he is not a carpenter by trade his hands have touched almost every square inch of their home and he has done an amazing job. Thank you Michael for going along with our crazy locations even though I'm sure you may have thought I was nuts - you are a truly a gentleman! Also, on a side note. I know that every woman within eyesight of you dancing with your mother not only cried but smiled, myself included. These moments of vulnerability and happiness conjure the memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you both so much for giving me a look into your beautiful relationship and also the opportunity to smile tonight!

7-27-08 Trish and Rob The E-Session

I have been so incredibly busy this past month shooting E-sessions, babies, maternity, Weddings and Getting some album designs in, whew! Where or where has the summer gone???? I've shot so many amazing images with many fabulous people so here are few sessions to catch us up through August. Enjoy =)

Meet Trish and Rob. I met Trish when I shot her brothers Wedding last year and I'm so glad that fate crossed our paths. These two are just so very laid back, friendly and in L-O-V-E ! Like most people, Trish and Rob told me that they felt a little awkward in front of the camera. My remedy is to just encourage you to find that happy place in each others' arms and forget about the camera. This is where the session really begins. The static poses that we capture are of course timeless but the showstoppers are always those that you feel most natural and happy to be near the one you love. Thank you guys for the simple acts of tenderness that you let me capture even when you may have thought that I wasn't looking =)

Candice & Chuck The Esession 7/22/08

Smiles and laughter come so easily to Candice and Chuck. As soon as I put them within inches of each other their interaction is so adorable. Chuck effortlessly scoops Candice up eliciting smiles and giggles from her. You can tell that they both have a love for life and love living in that moment. Chuck loves the sky and clouds. It's funny because I have shot many sessions in the city without even a hint of a fluffy white Cumulus and yet today as if Chuck himself ordered them up, there were so many of these large puffy cotton like clouds dotting the horizon. So, Chuck, I'm placing my order now for your wedding day. Please call in a few more Cumulus clouds, maybe some Stratus and finish it off with a Maui like sunset!

Tracy & Andy The Ession 7/18/08

Well. it is quite possibly the hottest day of the summer! I think it will be topping 1 million degrees today. It's funny how the heat can cause irritability in some people but I like the heat. I think it stems back to so many fond memories that I have of my childhood growing up on the island of Guam. Barefoot, climbing coconut trees and storming the beaches into the ocean. So the heat doesn't bother me and luckily for me Tracy and Andy don't mind it either. They are both up for anything and happily climbed trees and hillsides in our efforts to make beautiful images today. Thank you both so much for your free spirits and easy going ways! Your love for each other is boldly apparent. I know we are going to have fun on your wedding day!

Jessica & David The E-Session 7/13/08

Off to the beach to spend some time with Jessica and David. A beautiful day and as the sun slopes downward in the horizon it feels so serene. I feel very calm and lighthearted today as well. Maybe it's the soft and gentle demeanor that Jessica has or David's easy going grin. Whatever the reason I welcome days like today when the weather cooperates and the mood is lovely in and of itself. The Wedding of Erin and Nick 7-12-08

I cannot express in words alone how privileged I felt to be capturing these moments today. Erin and Nick took us all on a roller coaster of emotions vacillating between anxiousness, joy, love, excitement, and at moments a bittersweet celebration amongst family and friends. I knew that when this day came that there may be glimpses of sadness because I thought that Erin's brother Sean would be missing from todays celebration. I was partially wrong, Sean's presence was most definitely there. Sometimes when I shoot the details there are significant ones that I may not know the origins or meanings. Sometimes I read the inscriptions to help me ascertain the relevance. Today when I read the card attached to hundreds of single white roses I felt the relevance... "...today is the day I will marry the wonderful man you have brought into my life. In my heart you are always with me..." I had to stop shooting for a moment. This is life happening, not just a job or an assignment. When I shoot a Wedding I absorb myself in the swells of emotions and lives of my clients for that day. By doing this I feel that I can capture the images that they will want to remember. I feel happy when they are happy, excited for them when they are excited and also sad when that emotion presents itself. Empathy... it is what allows me to shoot weekend after weekend after weekend and never be tired of the experience that is your wedding day. Erin and Nick you are as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside and I thank you both for your warmth, kindness, trust and vulnerability. Whether it was fate or circumstance I am so grateful to have been able to play a part in your day!

The Wedding of Colleen and Jason 7-06-07

I'mmmm backkkkkkkkkk =) Yes, I have disappeared for awhile but I haven't been far. It's been a crazy past few months. I wish I could blog every single session or event that I shoot but I would be doing pretty much blogging and not much of anything else. So, if I don't blog your images it has nothing to do with how much I love one client over another ( I love you all of course)! In June I shot 6 weddings and 10 portrait and/or E-sessions, July had 5 weddings and 12 portrait and/or E-sessions, August is jam packed as well. This is a wonderful thing but in order to maintain quality, editing and albums are taking a little longer than if it were Jan-April when it's not wedding season. I'm back in full swing now catching up on the blog as well as all orders. Thanks everyone for being patient during this busy time of year!

I traveled to Orlando over the 4th of July weekend to spend a few days with the wonderful Colleen and Jason and family! When you say Orlando people immediately think of Mickey and all that Disney encompasses in terms of fairy tales. Well let me tell you, No Disney Magic Necessary! These two are a fairy tale in and of itself!

I arrived at The Ritz Carlton a day early to scope out the surroundings and of course I spied many beautiful locations within the grounds to shoot. I was so excited! I love destination weddings because I'm always challenged and I just love seeing locations with a fresh eye. It's very inspiring.

What was even more inspiring to me is the love between these two. Standing the test of time through high school and college. Also, sacrifices made for love, it just melts my heart. I felt so much support from their friends and families throughout the day for them and I was made to feel like a guest rather than a stranger and for that I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

The shoes..... Ahhh Stuart Weitzman designed these and they are Oscar shoes... Worn at the Oscar's and designed with up to 2 million dollars worth of diamonds. After the Oscar's the diamonds are replaced with Swarovski Crystals and the shoes are sold at Auction to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. The sash was custom designed to complete the look.

The dress.... This is a Monique Lhuiller. It's lovely and Colleen looked so amazing in it. A timeless and beautiful sillouette was created as the dress hugged every curve in all the right ways.

I love this shot.... Dia is ready to get this shindig going and has the dress off it's hanger, meanwhile Colleen is ever so calm just moments before she is to be married.

Here's my favorite shot. The small image does it no justice. When I view it on my screen as large as life I'm breathless. I can almost feel this quiet moment as they just hug for a brief second- married now, before they have to go and greet their guests. Close your eyes and think about the one you love more than you could have imagined and you will feel it too.

You can't have a fourth of July weekend without fireworks!! The Ritz Carlton puts on one Fantastic show. Congrats Colleen and Jason! I hope you had an amazing time in the Cayman Islands!

So here's the update on Lynn. The surgery went so much better than expected. The tumer was removed in it's entirety. This was done by performing a partial nephrectomy. 90% of her kidney was saved, Dr Malcowitz is indeed a truly skilled surgeon! A huge thanks for all of the concern and well wishes. The abundance of positivity has been so much appreciated. I'm sure that the days ahead may be tough for her as she rehabilitates but I know what was once a feeling of futility has now been replaced with hope and that is immeasurable when dealing with life and it's curveballs.

The Ironies of Life 7/23/08

The hail striking my window makes a ping, smack, ping kind of sound. It's quite mesmerizing... It plays a background kind of track as I'm listening to the thoughts in my head. I'm finishing the very last page of an album and I just got all choked up. I wish it were because of finishing the album or the wonderful and patient client that it's for but regrettably not. I debated posting this entry because I don't usually post too many entries of such a personal nature but I want to be able to remember exactly how it is that I feel at this very moment. I know I will look back on this day and this blog and say to myself that the weight of all of these feelings were worth bearing , whew we made it through and the feeling of survival trumps everything.

I feel hopeful, sad, anxious, terrified, strong, supportive, apprehensive, reflective, angry but most of all positive. Combining all of these together is both a lethal and toxic blend.

My best friend has Kidney Cancer. Wow, that's the first time I've actually said/written those words. You can't see it, smell it or touch it so it's existence up until this point was like imaginary. She doesn't smoke or drink. She's lives a pretty healthy life. She's the first one to help if someone is in need although she admittedly loves animals more than people. She's spent the past 10+ years working in the worst of neighborhoods in Philly as a police officer risking her life everyday trying to keep the streets safer with little to no thanks from the impoverished communities that she works in..... Yet it's not a bullet, a drug dealer or some other crazy thug that is attacking her. It's Cancer.

The reality struck me as I received a text saying, " I have 2 be at the hospital at 7am 4 admission..." I got that text as I finished page 60 of this album. So tomorrow bright and early I will be off to the hospital - only I won't show any remnants of the vulnerability that I feel now. Just stoic strength and support while I wait as she has part of if not all of one of her kidneys removed.

I have spent the better part of my life capturing the moments that take our breaths away. Yet days like today make me breathless and moments like now help me to remember why the good times are so very good. So spend a little more time today savoring in the moments with your loved ones, marinate yourselves in them, squeeze them a little tighter, hold them a little longer and most of all be present...

This is the T-shirt she's wearing to the hospital tomorrow. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw it. It's true too, Cancer did pick the wrong Bitch. I told Lynn the other day that she was quite possibly the most stubborn person that I have ever known in my life and that she was a gazillion times more stubborn than Cancer could ever be.

I think this t-shirt should replace her uniform that she wears in to work. Do you think the city of Philadelphia will approve. Ha, ha probably not huh.

Laura and Craig - The E-session 6-29-08

Strolling around today with Laura and Craig shooting their E-Session proves to be a very entertaining experience. We would walk a bit, pop into some deserted alleyway and boom all of a sudden people would appear. It was the craziest thing ever. Everywhere we went cars and people would suddenly come out of nowhere and watch us shoot, them kiss, walk in shots etc.... We were like magnets =) Laura and Craig are so down to earth and sweet that you can't help but like them. For the record, I disagree wholeheartedly with Craigs opinion of being completelely not photogenic. Quite the contrary, today both of your smiles, love and your laughter inspire me and you look gorgeous together!

The Wedding of Kim and Erion 6-28-08

I love when things just fall in place. It's like okay, cue lovely window light...Good, Good. Next cue Beautiful bride and lovely room light...Good, Good. Now cue wind and rain to go away and clouds to diffuse the sun for the ceremony...Good, Good. The entire day was brilliantly executed, every detail that Kim and Erion planned out looked just perfect. Friends and family have traveled from as far as Albania to be a part of their day. The joy and love was so apparent amongst all who attended. Kim was radiant and Eri so handsome, together they really made a stunning couple. The way that Eri looked at Kim when the vows were spoken says it all... Today is filled with happiness and celebration and tomorrow will bring the begining of your future together as a new family. I wish you both much love and also a tinge of jealousy as you spend the next few weeks in Thailand!

Kendall - The baby Session 6-23-08

Ahhh, little baby toes and hands, they have to be the cutest things in the world next to puppies. Today my first session of the morning is with Kendall. She is a few weeks old and it's her first session. I photographed her big sis Quinn 2 years ago as an infant. So much excitement today and although we thought that Kendall did not particularly like being a model today she did share with me a few precious smiles! Quinn took a break from playing with the bubbles to share in a few tender moments with her new baby sister. I love the feel of the image of Quinn holding Kendall's hand while looking out the door. I feel that it's the serenity of a mere moment that impacts your memory. Thank you girls for the moments you share today. I hope as you look back when you are older they will invoke the sense of sisterhood that you share.

Kristen and Brian - The E-session 6-23-08

Summer light, beautifully colored casts of amber just wrapping their warmth around you. It's like a gentle hug from the sun. Just like when someone who loves you wraps there arms around you and you feel the soft squeeze and closeness that ensues. If you have ever been hugged like this you know the endorphins that flow through you give you this sense of love, safety, closeness and excitement. This is also similar to what I feel when the session changes from the connection towards me and the camera to a connection towards each other. Not everyone can be comfortable or accustomed to being in front of the camera and the world displaying affection. My goal is to spend some time with you and just let you enjoy each other and forget about the camera and everything else if only for a few sweet moments. Kristen and Brian, your enthusiasm and excitement fuels my fire and I love the beautiful images we captured. The smiles you give each other are so very infectious!

Dina and John - The E-session 6-22-08

There seemed to be a whole lot of cross-checking going on today as the match up between the Rangers and the Flyers heated up! I'm thinking that they both won ;) Today Dina and John came down from New York to Dina's old stomping grounds here in Philly. I'm so glad that they did because we had such a great shoot. The chemistry that they share is so obvious to anyone within a bazillion miles of them. I just loved the natural way that they interact. I could look away for just a moment and miss a loving gesture or cute smile. Lucky for me there was no rationing of these tender moments. A beautiful day to shoot a Wedding in Avalon! I love, love, love the colors and details. Fun and vibrant Gerbera Daisies, the coolest seashells on a cake ever, seersucker suits, adorable bridesmaid dresses and of course the handsome groom and gorgeous bride! It was a wonderful way to spend the day. I love how Eric and Jen take everything in stride. It was such a stress free and pleasurable experience. Bright sun, time lines no problem! We even had a free moment to partake in some water ice on this warm June day. I love how natural and effortlessly Eric smiles and how Jen can be so sweet all of the time no matter what. Their interaction with each other and their friends just makes me smile =) Whether it was a quiet moment with each other or jumping on stage to belt out tunes these guys sure know how to make memories and plenty of photo opps for me. Yay!

As I walk through the day to day aspects of life I forget the value of stopping on occasion to take in the scenery and reflect on where I'm at. Relatively of course, where I'm at in life, the people in my life and sometimes just where I'm at... Today my baby graduates High School. It really didn't hit me until last night. I was writing out one of her cards and a myriad of emotions and memories hit me like the weight of dry heat on a scorching summer day. I got really emotional as my eyes welled up with tears. The comprehension that my beautiful baby girl has grown into such a lovely young woman and is graduating, soon to be 18 and driving. The time has gone by without so much as a blink or a warning. I really believe that we should have life warnings. You know maybe Steve Jobbs can program them into our ipods or iphones. Just little warnings like - Hey now would be a good time to hug your kid or yo, make sure you eat dinner together tonight or stop holding her hand she's 17 and can cross the street on her own... Seriously though, a little warning would sure help us out from time to time and serve as reminders that whether you want it to or not, life happens. So here's to you Kristin! To the child that you were and to the woman that you are becoming! I love you and am so very proud of you and no matter what path you choose to travel you will always find my support whether it be in mind, body or spirit. Enjoy these days sweetie pie they only come around once.

Mike's Senior Session 6-8-08

His name is Mike. I call him Mikey. I have called him Mikey since he was about 5 years old playing video games with Kristin while his mom Tami and I hung out on the rare evening that we weren't working crazy hours. He was sooooo adorable then and now he has grown into a handsome young man. Girls, although he is a cutie pie, last time I checked his heart was taken. Today I'm shooting his senior session. Tami called me completely disgusted with his Senior photos and I immediately suggested the session.

Senior Sessions are so big in the South and Mid-west and it amazes me how here on the east coast I really don't see a lot of cool sessions like this for High School Seniors. These kids are cool! Full of Personality! Interests! Ambition! Why not showcase that? So if you know a Senior or someone who has one, then suggest that they stray from the norm and arrange a session that showcases more than an awkwardly tilted head holding a rose while smiling a less than sincere smile.

Mikey plays guitar and sings in a band, he has a great sense of humor and more importantly is a great all around guy not to mention he has beautiful sparkling blue eyes! I have to admit that years ago Tami and I would have arranged a marriage with our kids but we were told that although they are both ridiculously good looking ;) neither one could get past the, "they've known each other since they were 5-ish ickyness". Here are a few of my faves!

Eddee & Tim ~ The E-session 5-27-08

The reason I offer E-sessions is because I firmly believe that discovering the connection between two people and being able to capture it is something that is intrinsically necessary when trying to depict their story and for the client to be able to see themselves through my caring and thoughtful eyes. I've thought so much about this in the past few months... How the relationship between photographer and client changes so much so from the initial consult to the wedding day. I'd like to think that I am an intuitive person but more than that I really do look closely at the emotions and body language of my clients in relation to each other as well as with me. Today I was happily greeted with such a warm and genuine smile from Eddee. I could sense already that both her and Tim were ready to place themselves in my hands and that alone makes the session so much easier.

Those of you that know me know that I really don't like my picture taken. So when you allow me to capture you at your most vulnerable I feel a responsibility to create a positive experience. We all have our limits and I prefer to never have to do a "portrait" style session if I ever have to. By that I mean the kind of session where you just look here and cheese because it's easy to look and stand awkwardly while smiling our hollywood smiles but it's difficult to just let loose and have the real you captured instead. I realize that this attitude puts me in a category that I may not be the photographer for everyone but conversely the ones I am for I will work a bazillion times harder because as much as it is for you it is for me that I shoot. So my point... Late night ramblings are my forte but there is a point... Eddee and Tim, I love the connection you two share in the way Eddee smiles so effortlessly while Tim holds you close. I appreciate your willingness to run around the city at my direction and mostly I thank you both so much for sharing with me your trust and your beautiful relationship!

Jessica and Tom - The E-Session 5/25/08

I love when I have the opportunity to shoot in locations other than those that I do more regularly. Today Jessica and Tom have suggested that we stroll around the trails just off of Kelly and Lincoln Drive. I'm sure I must've looked like a freak to passers by as I take in my surroundings scouring the area for cool little nooks to shoot in. I really enjoyed myself and it's always a pleasure when a couple as sweet as these two are your subject matter. We sat in the dirt, climbed rocks, braved a few wooded areas, walked across the river, played on fallen tree trunks and even witnessed a little road rage... All in a days work I say! I'm glad there were no injuries =) Here are just a few of my faves.

I woke up this morning fresh from shooting yesterday and thought to myself that I have an interesting job. It's always the same yet different and that's one thing I love about it. Yesterday I was in a the suburbs capturing Love and today I'm in the city doing the same yet different. So many beautiful details and planning go into the hard, hard job of coordinating a wedding. I love all of these little aspects. Today is no exception. Joann wore an absolutely stunning gown and she looked like she was walking off the pages of a bridal magazine! Maddie their cutie pie yorkie helped in the getting ready and took a few moments to pose for some portraits with her mommy =) Although the sun was harsh and the skateboarders resisted while we were shooting at Love Park we were rewarded later with the most amazing light streaming down the alleyway that would be the location that we would finish our shoot. Ahhh light, good, bad or indifferent it is the wonderful essence that when harnessed properly can create and/or enhance the emotions that we feel and images that we see. Today was full of wonderful light and beautiful touches. Thank you Chris and JoAnn for running through the streets with me, braving oncoming traffic, re-directing the gangs of skaters, searching for open shade, braving the smells of alleys and most importantly believing me when I say, "okay here's the last shot," even when it's not =) Trust me, I don't lie to my clients intentionally but you see, if I see the light I have to chase it...

The Wedding of Leslie and Pete 5/23/08

As I knocked on the door to Terry and Sonny's home I was greeted with such a warm and calm smile from Leslie! I was so happy to see her just positively radiant! I can always tell the vibe that a day will have by seemingly small details that are unbeknownst to most outside of my own quirky superstitions. It's true though... be calm and you attract calm, be creative and you attract creative etc... I feel so comfortable with the family so when Terry greets me with a giant hug and says, "I'm gonna miss you when we are all done with today," I wink and say well there's always baby shoots and such =) I know that as special as a wedding day is, it is just a slice of time in this ongoing circle of lifes' decisive moments. In the past few years I have found myself fortunate to be capturing so many stages of my clients lives. From engagements to marriage then pregnancy, births, baby sessions, family portraits, monumental birthdays, graduations and the circle continues. I love shooting weddings because of the emotional nature and details of the event but first and foremost, I am YOUR photographer. You see, it's a relationship that is built on trust and respect and I love being able to capture the moments of your life that you can't see because you're in it.

So with that all said, I relish the wedding day shoot knowing that this is just the beginning of a relationship with my clients and as I journey with you in capturing you and your family I feel so rewarded that these happy moments attract happiness!

So back to Leslie's day... It was gorgeous and her smile infectious! The girls looked stunning and the boys well, they were carefree, so happy to do anything and everything! Pete, as always charming and handsome! They opted to see each other prior to the ceremony and it was so romantic and I'm sure that sharing this moment privately eased any nervousness if any. Everyone was relatively calm and just excited to celebrate although Sonny, Leslie's dad was feeling a little anxious when I spoke with him because he and Leslie had choreographed a dance and he wanted to make it perfect for her. Well Sonny, You are the man!!!! That dance was so AH-MAY-ZING!!! Upbeat, full of personality, entertaining and you brought the house down! Leslie did spins and kicks and moves in that wedding dress that most people couldn't pull off in regular attire. I just kept shooting and shooting and shooting =) This day was as it should be, a celebration. You could see it in the smiles and laughter of family and guests, the love and willingness to put it all on the line from the parents, the connection of friendships and support from the bridal party and lets not forget the sweet and harmonic balance of how Leslie and Pete obviously love each other. Thank you all for such a wonderful day!

PS.... Terry and Sonny, you are both such amazing and supportive parents and I Thank you so much and appreciate your generosity! Also, the thank you cards are done and are fabulous of course, they are on their way to you, they aren't of the ordinary variety but they are made with a little extra love =)

Leslie - The Pre-Bridal Shoot

What better way to take advantage of your hair and make-up trial than to put your dress on and traverse the city for some beautiful Pre-Bridal photos. When Leslie and her mom Terry suggested this I was like, uh hell yeah!!! Leslie was so cute how she was a little nervous at first but by the end of the shoot she was such a pro. We covered a few of Philly's hot spots including the Penitentiary for a private tour. A great big THANK YOU goes out to Terry and Sonny, Leslie's parents, for driving us all around the city so that we could avoid the dreaded parking authority and also for being my photo assistants =) No worries on the dress, it came out of the session pretty much unscathed. We did the shoot about 8 days before the wedding. I printed and framed a few as a surprise for Leslie and I was sooooo happy with her reaction! This day really helped to make the wedding day photo session stress free and I highly recommend Pre-Bridals for this reason as well as having something to display at the reception.

I thoroughly enjoyed spending the afternoon with Leslie, Terry and Sonny. I felt like such a part of their team as we all worked together to help create beautiful and memorable images for Leslie. The love in this family is so evident and I feel so very honored to have them as my clients and more so to have been privy to one of the most special moments in their lives! The Wedding of Erin and Lou 5-17-08

The thorns were pricking the inside of my pants near my ankles and I remember thinking to my self, now why did I think it was a good idea to climb in between these rose bushes? You see it was out of the way of the guests, on the left side, a perfect vantage to capture Lou's face while the vows were exchanged. I was happy in my spot amongst the bushes and the bees =) Yet something in my head said Cindy, you need to climb out of these bushes, smile politely to the guests watching your ever so interesting balancing act and walk to the other side. So, through the years I've learned to listen to these little voices of intuition - they are never wrong. Erin had begun her vows as I raised my camera to my eye. As I did so the emotion of her vows produced a tear that proceeded to roll down her cheek. Her hands were clasped to Lou's and rather than remove her hands from his she let the tear roll down its path. He took his handkerchief and gently wiped the tear and its counterpart from both cheeks. I melted, as did every one watching.

A beautiful day filled with so many powerful moments. The kind of moments that a girl dreams of when she thinks of what her wedding day would be like. However you simply can't script these things. Today I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to spend the day with such an amazing group of people!

I also had the opportunity to work with Danielle of Lucky Productions Video, who is such a talented videographer. I met her awhile ago at an expo and I was drawn to her work back then. She has a fresh eye through out the day I was totally lovin her style.

Look at how happy Lola is, I think she knows it's a special day for her mom and dad =) Lola walked down the aisle wearing flowers from the day and the crowd went wild!

Lou's dad did old blue eyes proud as he sang while Lou accompanied him on stage Lou's grandfather watched.

At the end of the night as Val and I left the Crystal Tea Room we were tired. Not so much physically (although my new D3 and 70-200 are sure to popeye my right arm) but mentally. You see, days like today help me to realize that every wedding I shoot I give a piece of myself in exchange for pieces of my clients. The more you give the more you get. Thank you so much Erin and Lou for trusting us implicitly and for just being yourselves!

The Wedding of Denise and Roy 5-10-08

I feel that there are times that things just come together beautifully and then there are times when the day has been exquisitely planned. Today was a little of both! Giant kudos to Denise and Roy for meticulously planning and executing everything! Smooth, smooth, smooth... They had by far the longest shot list of family and friend groupings in my history as a photographer yet it was one of the quickest and flawlessly executed due to the cooperation and understanding of everyone involved. This is just one of the testaments as to how important Denise and Roy are to the people who love them. Everyone was more than happy to help make their day as memorable as they hoped it would be, myself included. Denise and Roy are just so sweet that you can't help but want to be around them. Thank you both for allowing me to share in these moments!

The Wedding of Jenell and Dave 5-9-08

Even the rain outside today couldn't spoil the smiles inside! Today is Jenell and Daves' wedding day =) I feel really honored to be working with them because I know that the task for choosing a photographer has been daunting. It must've been fate that Jeff and Kristine, my December 29th clients, forwarded their blog images to their friends and families leading Jenell to my website and eventually my studio. The rest is history... Thanks so much for walking in the wet grass and just loving each other and your day rain or shine! So here are a few of my faves from the day .

This is a long overdue thank you to all of my wonderful clients who have referred me to their family, friends, co-workers... I always ask my new clients how they heard about me and the bulk have said from______ fill in the blank, you shot her wedding or some variation of that statement. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the word of mouth advertisement. I've never been one to pimp myself out in magazines, competitions or such because I love the art and love how imagery can create as well as capture emotion. But when the day is done I am thankful that I can make a living doing something that I so enjoy =)

Jen and Chase - The E-Session 5-04-08

Forecasts are often wrong in my opinion. Today was supposed to rain and typically I would get a call saying, oh no it might rain should we still shoot? No call... Yay... Blue skies, Yay... a wonderful breeze and of course the company of Jen and and Chase, Yay... Like I said, forecasts are often wrong and today was the kind of day you could just picnic in the grass or stroll around the streets just enjoying the city so we chose the latter although being someone who loves great food I wouldn't have minded a picnic whipped up by Chase who happens to be an Executive Chef. We strolled around old city which is an area that I love for the textures and vibe. I really love how wonderful, sweet and easy going Jen is and just being able to walk around and suggest things and having both Jen and Chase up for anything is a photographer's dream come true. I loved the natural smiles, fun loving and good natured interaction and especially the quiet intimate moments wedged in between the laughter. It's the combination of all these emotions that inspires me. I look forward to shooting their wedding in August and having the opportunity to capture all of these emotions and then some =)

Kim and Joe The E-Session 4-27-08

It's windy and chilly today but Kim and Joe don't seem to be too fazed by that. We are in A.C shooting their E-Session. Joe is so sweet, the way that he wraps his arms around Kim to keep her warm and snuggles close. They both laugh and smile so easily that it's a simple task to capture them having fun. At one point we are all cracking up as several people on the boardwalk headed towards me trying to "help" me. Ha, ha! I was laying on the ground with the camera pointed towards a kissing and spinning Kim and Joe. Now, would a couple really be randomly kissing and spinning in circles oblivious to someone who had just fallen down??? It was pretty funny that passers by thought that they needed to call 911 to help me. I'm glad though that there is still some kindness in strangers. It's refreshing to see. Also, never underestimate the power of a simple stroll on the beach and random laughter. It has a way of warming you up especially on a windy and chilly day =)

FUN, LOVING, SUPPORTIVE, BEAUTIFUL.....
These words describe my day today! They also describe the emotions that I saw demonstrated from Jenna and Drew's family and friends. I just love how not only the family but the guests and the bridal party just surround this couple with their love and support. The whole day felt like this to me. They were so willing to do anything and everything to make the wedding images memorable and for that I thank them! It's the kind of day that I walk away from at the end of the night knowing that I got everything that they'll be happy with and more. But more than that, I walk away with a renewed faith that the emotions I capture are real and that I love when Love is in the air =)

Michael and Jen - Esession 4-25-08

First and foremost..... Happy, Happy, Happy belated Birthday Mike =)

Now on to the images... Today I spent the afternoon in Baltimore with two of the sweetest people you will ever meet even if Jen is slightly obsessed with Rita's! But who isn't, come on now! Seriously speaking, Mike is so romantic. From the way he proposed to how he just wraps his arms around Jen and holds her close. Days like today make me very thankful that my job places me in the crux of situations filled with the most happiest of times.
I feel very lucky to be around people who appreciate me for what I do and allow me to climb a hill with them or roll in the grass or even find a fortress in between a tree lined median. These are the things that we can sometimes overlook yet these are the memories that will always bring you smiles.
Thank you so much Jen and Mike for making me feel so welcome and comfortable. I am looking forward to shooting your wedding and can't wait to stroll the city finding all the little fun and romantic nooks with you!

The Wedding of Ginia and Arnoux 4-18-08

From the moment that I met Ginia she had this calmness about her. It was quite lovely actually! I'm typically the one with unfailing composure and decorum but today Ginia had me trumped. The day was perfect and even if there had been anything that did not go to plan, not a soul would have known by the way Ginia carried herself. Simply a joy to be around and it was my pleasure to be a part of this special day!

Juliana and Geof E-Session

I met Juliana at a Bridal Expo that I was at earlier this year. I distinctly remember the moment because the fashion show had just finished and the prize winners were being announced. Shortly there after a smiling Juliana walks up to me and tells me that she just won my prize which was an engagement session and that she had already booked a photographer for her wedding but they wouldn't do an e-session in Philadelphia without a huge surcharge and could we do the session in Philly? Of course we can! Surcharge? No way! She was excited to be able to shoot in the city and we all know that Philly, well, she is my muse =) I get excited when my clients are excited. I knew this would be a great shoot and from the beginning to the end it was. Geof and Juliana are just so sweet and easy going and up for anything. So, we traversed a few blocks in the city, hit up some totally Philly landmarks and just had a fantastic afternoon!

Some days I direct and some days I just snap away. Today was one of those snap away kinda days. I could feel the love and romance in the air as I peered through my viewfinder framing each image. Sometimes it's a glance or a touch or a word. Maybe it was all three today. Regardless one thing is for sure and that is that Eri and Kim adore each other and I adored being a part of capturing a few of those fleeting moments!

Today's e-session is in Brooklyn with the lovely Eric and Archana. A gorgeous day with amazing light! We strolled towards Brooklyn Bridge Park and snapped a few and headed towards the area beneath the bridge. Of course we were unaware that we needed a permit to shoot here so the image you are viewing was illegally taken. Those two little lawbreakers taunted the security guards with each and every embrace and kiss =) Yes we were followed and then reprimanded but it was worth it. Note to self....Get a permit when shooting at Brooklyn Bridge Park. We headed to the walkway and on our way there we shot some of my faves from the day. I can't wait to shoot the wedding in August! I traveled to Milford Nj to do a baby session with Jacob. I really enjoy location shooting. I feel that especially with babies, being in their own environment makes things so much easier and comfortable. The drive was very beautiful. I felt compelled to stop several times to shoot the landscape. Milford is located on the Delaware river and the borough dates back to the 18th century. There is so much charm in the architecture and history and expanse of land quite contrasting to it's nearby city. I'm enjoying this peaceful ride and am really just feeling so serene. So when I arrive and meet Jacob I am equally pleased at what a joy he is. His smile is hearty, his grin effervescent and his gaze so tranquil. Ahhh the joy that babies are and the joy that they bring =) Thank you Jacob for a wonderful afternoon peek into these moments of your life!!!

Kristen and Larry - Esession

Today was great! It didn't rain although the wind blew my hair into a style resembling that of heat- meiser... Ha ha, it's totally true and was not at all flattering. Kristen and Larry laughed a lot, I think it was either my windblown hair or my charm. Actually on a serious note I think that it's the kind of laughter you can only share with that special someone that you have known forever and trust implicitly and more than anything else feel comfortable with in a such a way that emotions don't need to be coaxed. I love them for that and how easy they were to photograph despite them thinking that they weren't. It's a difficult task to be in front of a camera, vulnerable... I thank you both for trusting in me and I am so looking forward to being able to capture many more laughs, smiles and everything in between on your wedding day. These are only a few of my faves. There were too many to post!

They met in middle school! How amazing is that! We went to the school that they attended and it was really fun seeing the reactions from the teachers and students. I'm sure the kids are still talking about that famous couple they saw being photographed at their school!

Ava and Olivia - Baby Portraits 3-12

This is Ava welcoming her new baby sister =) How cute are they!!!
It seems like just yesterday I was shooting family, maternity and then baby portraits for Jen and Andrew. Time flies and now Ava is 17 months old and I'm back to capture some smiles from her and new baby Olivia. What a sweet little peanut Olivia is! Even when she was crying she was sooooooooo precious! However the tears were short lived and replaced with the sweetest little face looking up at me. Loved, loved, loved the natural light spilling in through the windows but more so I loved the sweet expressions from Olivia and the giggles and baby talk mixed with first spoken words from Ava. It gives me a reason to talk in gibberish =)~ I'll do anything for a laugh if my audience is a toddler. She fed my ego by laughing and clapping at all my silly faces and sounds so thank you Ava for letting me act like a 2 yr old. I think we all should do that every so often!

Today Casey and G-N and I are finishing up the spring round of Head shots. Ohhhhhhh how I wish spring was here! You can catch these girls on the air (G-N with Chio in the morning and Casey in the late am early afternoon) on Wired 96.5 . They are also making appearances together and usually have cool tips on make-up, fashion etc.... I have to say that they can do full on make-up and hair in less than .00000009 seconds. Ok maybe it took a little longer but not by much. They were so easy to work with and I thank, thank, thank you!!!! It was fun girls, we'll have to get together and see if Casey's cat can hang with the dog's for a group play date =) although rumor has it that he outweighs both of G-N's dogs and mine combined!

The E-session of Jenell and Dave

Today Jenell and Dave and I stroll around the city for their E-Session. I love taking paths or streets that I haven't really walked before. It's so amazing what you stumble upon. I do love the architecture in Philly and have grown to appreciate the things that aren't mentioned or dwelled upon when people talk of the city. It really wasn't warm out but when you get a little numb it kinda feels warm or is that frostbite? Just kidding, it wasn't that bad at all. Dave and Jenell will be getting married in May and I'm excited to be shooting the wedding. They are pros now at being photographed and have even managed to learn the foreign language of Cindy-Corny-ese. This is the language that I mumble when I'm behind the camera directing where to look etc... Kiss etc... Those of you who have been there know what I'm talking about. Open minds and a willingness to try anything and trust in me are such valuable characteristics in my clients. So thanks to you both for encompassing all three and then some. Also, A special thanks goes out to Jeff and Kristine who were married on 12/29/08 for sending your blog out and leading Jenell to me!!!!

The Wedding of Marie and Mike - 3/1/08

Lori and I are off to Doylestown today for Marie and Mike's wedding. It's bitter cold but at least there's no snow like the forecast called for! These two really made for a striking couple. Not just that they are tall, gorgeous and complement each other it's also the way that they look at each other. Even their friends were just really cool people who all clicked with each other and did whatever necessary to make this day special for them. They were the type of people that anyone would want to hang out with and I'm sure that they would be the group found laughing and having a great time anywhere. I could do an entire album filled just with out takes and fun moments! It puts a smile on my face =)

I love the way the light and shadows cascade over the dress and walls. The details on the dress were exquisite!

The web version doesn't do this image any justice. The emotion in Mike's eyes as he sees Marie just melts your heart!

The flower girl and ring bearer were sooooooooo cute!

I just love sun/lens flare! You can see the rays streaking across the entire church.

Everyone had goosebumps from the cold air and the wind made it feel even worse but no worries, a little cuddle for warmth helps for a minute.

These were the coolest vintage umbrellas evahhhh!!!

Yeah, normally when I say "ok, now run around" there is a wide variety of what people deem as running. I don't think I was actually prepared for these to guys to full on run! They ran, they ran across each other, they ran into each other, they ran around Marie and Mike, they had fun with it.

Standing outside of the Mogul Room entrance at the G Lounge. A Private VIP area behind 3 foot thick walls and secured by steel vault doors. Hmmmmm wouldn't you like to see what's behind those doors. My secret for now =) You can't purchase your way into the room, you must be invited. What a really cool place for a photo shoot! So Chio and I and the gang spent a few hours updating their head shots and checking out the ultra swanky decor of the G Lounge. So all you P1's out there make sure you call in to the show and tell them what a sexy bunch they are! Thanks for being such great models =)

Chris and JoAnn - The E-Session 2-18-08

The weather broke today long enough to spend some time in Old City with Chris and Joann. I know there is snow in the upcoming forecast but aside from the grayish skies and slight crisp smell you would never have guessed. We are shooting their E-Session and the mood is fun and filled with laughter! Chris and JoAnn are so cute together and they make me want to smile every time I hear Joann's infectious laugh. The wedding will be here in just a matter of months and I'm looking forward to the emotions that I'm sure will there for the capturing!

Willisanne and Mark- Maternity

Congrats to both Willisanne and Mark who are expecting their first child!!! The little bundle is scheduled to arrive in April and I'm so excited to be a part of this fantastic time for them. I shot the first chapter which was the wedding and now the second chapter is soon to start! We are actually doing a baby story book that will showcase images from the pregnancy , the first days in the hospital and baby's first photo shoot. It's a great way to document and preserve this special time. Time goes by so quickly and it's all too easy to forget monumental things so this will be something they can look at and cherish for years to come. Before you know it you'll blink and the little one will be graduating high school and heading off to start their own chapters...

Whether you use this word as a noun or a verb it can and does mean many different things to different people. Having worked in the wedding industry for several years I have had the pleasure of experiencing so many emotion filled moments with many, many clients. Every time I shoot an Engagement session or a Wedding or Maternity or Newborn portraits I get to witness multiple levels of this seemingly intangible yet omnipotent feeling, this feeling we all call Love. Sometimes I think that I don't allow myself to express my feelings in everyday life properly. I only say this because I find myself so consumed when I'm shooting and often find myself tearing up or near tears. This usually happens when I hear an incredibly heartfelt toast or when I see the way a father holds his new baby as his eyes become misty while gazing at the miracle that he is holding it completely touches my heart strings. I feel that same suffocating pressure of emotion when I see the strong and gripping hugs from a father to his daughter as his dance with her ends and the realization that there will be another man in her life that becomes her center. The list could go on and on and on....but rather than put everyone into a coma while trying to decifer my ramblings I will get to my point and yes I do have one =)

I just want to express how incredibly fortunate I have been in my life to have been a part of so many special and poignant moments in your lives. I have the best clients in the world! I want to thank all of you for allowing me to be a part of these moments and also for referring people like you who value photography as much as I do.

Jen & Mike E-Session

Although the skies were gray the mood was cheery today! I had the pleasure of spending a few hours in Marlton New Jersey shooting the E-Session of Jen and Mike. They live over 1700 miles from here and were only around for a few days but despite a hectic weekend for them they squeezed in some time to hang out for a few hours and trespass with me, Mike assured me that he knew the property owner ;) We didn't get arrested or shot at so I'm guessing that it must be true. We played the have you ever game... Have you ever shot in the parking lot of a gas station before? Nope, not till today. I can check that off my list now. I'm really excited to shoot their wedding. I can't guarantee that we won't trespass again but I can guarantee that we'll capture some amazing moments and get some gorgeous images!

April and Harvey - The E-Session 2-2-08

An intimate table located in the back of The Capital Grille was where Harvey proposed. April said yes and so began their story... They felt that the very table where their engagement started would be an appropriate place to begin our session. I couldn't have agreed more. After we left the restaurant we spent an hour or so enjoying the unseasonably mild February weather while strolling the streets of Philadelphia. I have to say, no matter how many times I walk these streets I always find something that inspires me. It's easy when you have two fun lovin' people strolling along with you! I love the reactions that strangers and passersby have when they see two people in love and having these moments documented. It's as if the harsh and sterile stares that you sometimes get from people in a hurry passing you by is suddenly replaced with smiles and gleams from the very same eyes that ordinarily would have cast not so inviting glances your way. Could it be that love or the idea of love has a way of changing you and how you view the world? I often wonder about this. Maybe I just need to shoot more E-Sessions in the streets and tip the universe a little towards a time and place where smiles from strangers are no longer creepy but acceptable, welcomed and looked forward to....

LIBERATING - The Boudoir Session Revealed

Although you won't find any galleries on my website and no entries in my blogs..... Last year I shot an amazing number of Boudoir Sessions! There are so many reasons to book one. However there is one feeling that my clients tell me time and time again. Although trepidatous at the start, most exclaim after words what a liberating experience it was to have the session.
So I'm coming clean! Of course I do Boudoir Sessions! They are rapidly becoming a frequently requested session amongst brides. Also, My name is Cindy and I'm a reality show Junkie.... I admit, I know, half the battle right??? Well my inspiration for this post is a wonderful new series I caught on lifetime. How to Look Good Naked hosted by Carson from the Fab Five.

This show explores the self image issues that so many women in todays society have and teaches them how to love themselves because beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Lastly he schedules a Boudoir Session... At the shows end the woman invariably has embraced her assets and feels a sense of acceptance with herself that money just can't buy. You would think that each person showcased is a size 28+ but oh so not true, real women from size zero on ...

Which brings me too... A little Q and A Followed by my Boudoir Prices and Package info.

Q:Why Schedule a Boudoir Session?
A:Because you are fabulous, it's a great Valentines day surprise, a perfect gift for the soon to be hubby, for your boyfriend, Anniversary etc....

Q:Where does the session take place?
A:Wherever the light is ;) The privacy of your home or on location. Some girls get a room at
an area hotel or bed and breakfast.

Q:What do I bring to the Session?
A: Some people choose to bring a friend or book a "party", strength in numbers. Also bring lingerie that you feel accentuates your attributes or makes you feel sexy, his favorite button down, a tie, cool shoes, stockings or anything that he may love like his guitar, car or Wii controllers =). I have had clients that preferred everything from sexy lingerie to boy shorts and tank tops. It's your style, your choice.

Q:Do I have to get NAKED???
A: Of Course Not! This is a personal choice. I find that implied nudes can come across more sensual than actual nudes. Lingerie and/or outfits are typical. However the level of intimacy captured is whatever you want to project and as a woman I create an environment that is conducive to your utmost of comfort.

Q:What if I'm not a size 2 and I have in my opinion some areas I'm not fond of?
A:No Problem. I believe that everyone has a best feature, you may be seeing something nobody else sees. Your fiance/boyfriend is already in love with you and is going to be overjoyed that you did this for him, besides, I'm a professional and will capture you in the best light and minimize anything that you feel is less than perfect.

Q:Will you keep these images private?
A: You betcha. I won't post them on my blog or website unless you are so liberated that you decide you want the world to see. Otherwise, password protected private viewing and ordering only.

Q:How long does the session last?
A:A typical session lasts 1 and a half to 2 hours depending on the quantity of people and wardrobe changes.

Q:How do I book?

Erin and Nick - E-session 12-27-07

Today I am shooting the E-session of Erin and Nick. I was a little scared that we might get rained out as I listened to the rain hitting my window panes the night before. But as luck would have it the skies were gray but clear. The ground was still wet so no funny rolling around business but hey, you can't always have it all.
It's kinda surreal to have these two as clients. I met them at an expo earlier in the year and we just clicked. I knew I would love to be their photographer! Unfortunately I was booked for their date. Fast forward a few weeks and the clients who had originally booked the date had to change it. I immediately contacted Erin and Nick, we all met at my studio and the rest is history. I'm really looking forward to shooting the wedding! Thank you, thank you, thank you guys for taking direction so well even though I knew at times you felt silly! You make it look easy to look so in love and super gorgeous! Trust me I already have a mental shot list compiling in my head for all of our cool wedding day location shots!!!

Jacqui - Portrait Session

Since I met Jacqui about 12 years ago I have had the pleasure of shooting her wedding, her pregnancy, her baby book, the first images of baby John and countless updates for her portfolio. You may have seen her gracing the pages of catalogs and ads for Jc Penneys, Springfield Mall, Boscov's and many more well known department stores or if you tune in to QVC she is on pretty regularly. Aside from being a model, a mother, a wife and a pretty good photographer, Jacqui is the very first friend that I found when I relocated to New Jersey over a decade ago and since then she has been more like family to me. She's is truly one of those rare people that you meet who is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and I know that she's always in my corner with honest opinions and support. So when it came time to update her portfolio I said no problem! We had tons of fun it really wasn't even work... Here are a few of my faves =)~

Sadie and Fletcher 12-11-07

Twenty perfect fingers, Twenty perfect toes!
Babies are always a fun and unpredictable photo session. Parents often have in mind what they want and sometimes I try to be diplomatic so that the expectations are able to be fulfilled and keep things in perspective based on the age of the children. Well today I ate my words! Marisa loved the images in my portfolio where the babies looked and smiled and really showed their personalities. I love capturing those types of images. However most of the images she saw were of babies 3-9 months old and these two little cuties are only a little over a month and premies at that. So I warned that we may not get too much emotion, probably mostly sleeping yadda, yadda, yadda. Well both Sadie and Fletcher must not have liked that and decided to show me just how much personality they have! They were an absolute joy! Fletcher had a keen sense of where his sister was at all times, often touching her face and nose. They were awake for virtually the entire session and they both amazed me with their strength . You never know what you are gonna get with babies but I am more than pleased with these images and thank you both for allowing me into these very precious moments of your lives!

Chrissey and Mike's E-Session

It's always a pleasure to spend the afternoon walking around the city and capturing images with a wonderful couple like Mike and Chrissey! The day was a bit chilly but you would never have guessed because you only see the warmth in their pics. We must have seemed approachable however it's not uncommon in the city of Philadelphia for a stranger to come up to you and offer to "take your camera," I mean, "take your picture" with your camera! Yes, we had some local entertainment and it provided for a few laughs and kept the mood light. So all in all the shoot was great and I'm so excited to shoot the wedding knowing what a lovely couple these two are and what a stunning bride Chrissey will be!

Well the proofing site that I have been using for some time now has decided that enough is enough! Some fatal error is preventing me from uploading any more images. I think it knew that I was changing the course of how portraits sessions would be viewed and decided that it would quit before I laid it off. So say goodbye to the old site. No worries for clients with existing events on the site. I will leave the URL intact until Jan 31,2008. So if there are any images that you wish to order please do so before then. After Jan 31, 2008, all events will expire and be removed from the online world. I will still have the original files should you decide to place an order after Jan 31, 2008.

So I figured that I needed to shoot for my Holiday card since I've been doing tons for clients and Lilli was my first subject. Kristin and Daisy (aka baby) are a little harder to nail down. Here is the final image that I chose for Lilli.

The Wedding of Meghan and Jamie 11-24-07

It seemed to me that when it comes to the things that you would want your Groom to do or be on your wedding day, Jamie had every base covered! Every time I turned around there would be one special sentiment better than the last. It started with this card that Jamie gave to Meghan, I'm sure it set the stage, more to come... Roses, a gorgeous necklace to match her dress and best of all his willingness to do anything that day. I found Meghan to be the kind of person who everyone loves. She was so easy going and just thoroughly enjoyed the moments as they came. The guests and bridal party looked as if they were having the best time dancing. The floor was crowded and people were jammin all night long. I even had to be rescued by Meghan, and it was hysterical! I was weaving around the dance floor getting some really fun shots when I got sandwiched by a groomsmen and a bridesmaid, kind of like the Will Ferrell SNL skit, A night at the Roxbury. I was boxed in and getting danced on and this went on for several minutes. I was cracking up so I finally did a little dance move and Meghan laughed and said "ok, get off of Cindy!" Well, thank you all for making this a very memorable night! You partied like rock stars and had fun the way that you should whilst in the company of great friends and family!
