10-17 Sarah & Rebecca - A Sister's Session

Can I say that I love hangin out with Sarah. I've had the pleasure of shooting her E-Session, Wedding, Trash the Dress and now a special session with her sister to give to mom as a gift. The sessions are always fun, easy and we always end up with more great pics to choose from than we need. Today was no exception! Add Rebecca to the mix, she is equally as fun loving and amicable as Sarah. It's funny how when siblings are together time can stand still. We can revert back to our roles as children. I reflect back to when I was younger. The oldest of 3 children. My two younger brothers often subject to the "life lessons" that I was teaching them... It's a wonder they even speak to me after all of the stuff I used to get us into. I can still remember John, who was the youngest, writing on pieces of paper all the things he was gonna tell mom and dad once they got home. Ha, ha... only he couldn't write yet so he had lines of scribble on paper.... Funny now, funnier then.

I digress as usual=) Back to Sarah and Rebecca! We spent the afternoon roaming the park that sits in their backyard. Walking the paths and climbing the trees that they did so frequently when they were young. What a beautiful glimpse to capture for their mom. Her girls are older now but the sights are the same and in these images I am sure she can see their childhood reflections. Here's just a few =)

Evelyn, Tyler and Rosie. A day at the dog park. 10-3-07

As I saw this shot through my lens I knew that it was a special moment. I reviewed the image on my display and I felt a tear form in the corner of my eye. I quickly turn away so that Ev doesn't see me near to crying. I wanted to stay strong and just maintain as much composure as I could for her. This time with Tyler and the images that we captured today I know are special now but will be even more so in the coming days.

Tyler is one of the most well behaved, gentle and beautiful golden retrievers I have seen. I shot his first portraits and his xmas cards for the past few years as well. He is Ev's boy and to all of our dismay he has been diagnosed with cancerous tumors in his abdomen. He is undergoing chemotherapy but this treatment is only going to postpone the inevitable for a few months. I never knew until recently the way an animal can affect your life. They just express their love and loyalty to you and without that I know that some people wouldn't have much else. Today I saw Ev cry and I cried inside too. I can't begin to imagine how I would feel if I were in her place. Ev, I just want you to know that I do care and that I am here for you as are so many people that love you.

This is Rosie. She is a Golden also. Ev rescued her and she seems so happy!

Molly and Lee - Engagement Session

I often wonder if we ever really get lost...Maybe it's meant to be, maybe it's just so we can discover something we may not have seen otherwise. I can remember my father jokingly taking "the scenic" route frequently when we traveled.

Lori, Katie and I took "the scenic" route when we met with Molly and Lee for their engagement session. Good thing because our discovery was this amazing 100 year old chapel with the most gorgeous detailed arches and stone. What a wonderful backdrop for such a great couple. Molly and Lee were a lot of fun and we thank you for sharing the afternoon with us. Lee even had a few battle wounds but that didn't stop him from running in the weeds, scooping Molly up or even a fun little piggy back ride. I'm sure the wedding is going to be as much of a pleasure to shoot as this session was! Here are a few of my faves from the day.

Isn't she Lovely.....Sofia 2 weeks old 5-10-07

I went to Northeast Philadelphia for baby Sofia's first photoshoot on Thursday. She is 2 weeks old with a beautiful set of lungs and an unbelievable head of hair. What a little peanut! Everything about her was all girl on the outside from her dainty and slender fingers to her gorgeous locks. On the inside she surprised me with her will and independence. She was so unbelievably strong for a 2 week old. She stayed awake the entire session, ate about 3 times and I swore at one point she was going to get up on her knees and crawl! Well, I'm sure not actually but it sure looked that way. Babies amaze me. They are just so precious and innocent. I love the smell of babies and the softness of their skin and hair. They are only this little once and they grow so fast this is why I love to document the little details. In the blink of an eye they are a teenager asking for the keys to the car! So, enjoy the time you have with your babies and may they all be as sweet as little Sofia!

I had a lot of fun doing this session. Babies are always challenging. You never know if you are going to get a great shot because they really haven't learned yet how to communicate with you and vice versa. Patience is key. I have found that if you just wait and watch you can definitely capture their personality, it only takes a split second to get that glimpse. Thank you Sofia for letting me catch a few glimpses!
